Bratislava - Year of realization 2010
Architecture with high residential standards from the 1920s with a facade in the modern decorative cubist style. National cultural monument.
The house is set in a range of three large plots and has a central courtyard on an irregular plot. The main street façade has a basic grid pattern with vertical plaster bands, decorative relief motifs of quadrillobes, triangles, arches, wide window tracery and prominent portals. The whole design has the character of the modern cubist style of the 1920s. This colourful architecture was applied in Slovakia under the influence of the Czech New Wave on cooperative and state tenement houses. The designs were signed by the architect B. Weinwurm.
Monumental research of facades: NOVOTA- ART et al., 2011
The stylistic reconstruction of the street and courtyard facades restored the original characteristics of this modern architecture in the cubist style. In addition to the technical restoration processes involved in the overall regeneration of the façades, the details and particularities of the smooth, fine and coarse structural plasterwork have been reconstructed. The authentic colour scheme was also restored in golden ochre, grey and brick red tones.
The implementation of the facade renovation by NOVOTA – ART was awarded in the category “Reconstructed, renovated and adapted building” with the Facade of the Year Award 2010 by BAUMIT.
