Multifunctional house

Bratislava, Obchodná street 7. Restoration of the facade. Originally a tenement house with a passageway, in a continuous street development, built around 1900. Ground floor with commercial portals, two storeys, with roof extension. Characteristic elements of late eclecticism with prominent window pediments and relief architectural detailing- column heads with floral features, wide main cornice with dentil cornice and corbels.

Implementation

Before the restoration, the facade had been unmaintained for a long time, the plaster was weathered and clogged, and the facade was heavily soiled. The work was focused on the overall restoration, including pigeon fouling problems, the attic cornice and the weathered parts of the plaster. The plaster was repaired, the damaged architectural elements of the facade were restored and, after cleaning, decorative elements were added in order to reconstruct the original elements.  The original colour scheme was also restored: the flat wall in a light ochre tone and the architectural elements in a broken white colour scheme.
